Featuring a collection of six Swamp Dogg demo tracks, recorded between the early 1970s to the early 1980s. Each of the songs contained here was considered for inclusion on Swamp Dogg’s critically acclaimed 2020 album ‘Sorry You Couldn’t Make It’. Four of the songs made it onto the album, and two are being released here for the first time.

These are the raw, original self-recorded sketches of songs that would later become instant classics such as “Sleeping Without You is a Dragg” (a song that would eventually feature Justin Vernon and Jenny Lewis), “I Lay Awake”, “I’d Rather Be Your Used To Be”, and “Please Let Me Go Round Again” (which would become a duet with John Prine, and would end up being Prine’s final recording). Also included on this EP are two demos that didn’t make it onto the album, “Barney’s Beanery” and “Something You Didn’t Have Time To Do”.

‘Sorry You Couldn’t Make It Demos’ is a unique time capsule, showing the long-standing brilliance of one of music‘s most consistently amazing and underrated artists. The EP is released digitally and on cassette, limited to just 250 copies on red cassettes.
